Frequently Asked Questions
I have a single bike that I need transported, does Two Wheel Travelers ship single bikes?
Unfortunately, w e are not set up to transport any less than 10 or more motorcycles in a single haul. Two Wheel Travelers is not just a transport company, our goal is to provide the motorcycle enthusiast and his/her friends with a memorable experience while attending their chosen event or rally and to make the trip less stressful. We cater to larger groups that may not be able to successfully plan a group ride without our services, and it's not just a job to us, its an adventure that we like to share with the new friends we meet long the way.
If my friends and I want to plan a ride in a far away destination such as The Grand Canyon, how far in advance must we reserve our transport?
Typically, a 60 day advance notice is needed for a private charter. This allows us to plan for things such as, loading/unloading, mapping an appropriate route, and arranging for any additional needs that your party may require.
I have received less expensive quotes to transport my bike to an event, what exactly am I paying for when booking transport with Two Wheel Travelers?
With other transport companies, you get just that....transport and that's all. Those companies are more than willing to have you hand over your hard earned cash so that they can haul your bike to a rally and drop you off. With Two Wheel Travelers, we stay on site for the entire event and our custom transporter features amenities that are constantly available to you during the event. We feature a custom transport trailer with central heat and air, a full restroom complete with shower, and furnished lounge for your comfort after a long sight see-ing ride. Also, our constantly staffed transporter can serve as safe overnight storge for your bike and gear during your stay. We also ship your riding gear and luggage with your bike so that, literally, all you have to do is fly and ride. We make arrangements to pick you up at the airport close to your destination.
What are the benefits of having my bike transported versus just riding it?
That will vary according to personal preference and the distance to your event, but overall, most of our clients enjoy knowing that whatever pattern the weather decides to follow; they won't have to worry about possible delays in getting to or returning from their event. Also, any experienced rider knows that the more distance your cover in a day of riding, the greater the chance that fatigue will set in and this is when accidents can become unavoidable. Other clients have expressed that they enjoyed the piece of mind they gained when able to store their bikes on the transporter overnight, reducing the risk of theft. Whatever the circumstances, most people will find a compelling reason to transport their bike for a far away event.
I feel uneasy about having someone else haul my bike, how do I know that my bike will be safe and arrive in good condition?
Our staff have invested countless hours answering this question. Not to mention we also ride, so we know how sacred your bike is to you. Two Wheel Travelers uses state-of-the-art transport equipment. Our transport trailer features e-trac in our flooring to provide a stable foundation for our wheel chocks and straps. We use CONDOR wheel chocks, a sturdy and strong piece of equipment. Our straps have been tested to withstand over 15,000 lbs of pull force to ensure superb performance against nearly any situation that may occur during transport. Our transporter features cabin cameras which are monitored repeatedly during transport, and our transporter features an air-cushioned suspension for added protection. We make sure that there is ample space between bikes to protect against "rubbing", and your bike is handled only by seasoned riders with years of experience.
